The Phulkari Bow is inspired by the rich heritage of traditional Phulkari embroidery. Meticulously handcrafted, it brings an exquisite touch of culture to both your everyday hairstyles and your festive occasions.
Phulkari, Flower Work by Name
Phulkari translates to flower work, a technique from Punjab where bright silk thread is worked across a plain base until the base almost disappears. This bow follows that tradition: dense rings of yellow, orange, pink, green, blue and red stitched over cream cotton, every circle formed by hand.
Pastel Cowries and Silver Detailing
The tails finish in cowrie shells coloured in soft mint, pink, blue and yellow, strung on silver beads, with a silver centrepiece holding the bow together. The pastels lift the brightness of the embroidery rather than competing with it.
For Festivals and Ordinary Days Both
This is not a piece made for one night only. The Phulkari Bow sits as comfortably with a kurta on a regular Tuesday as it does with a lehenga at Dandiya. Handmade by Oh Kittu, it earns its place in a collection rather than a single photograph.
